Many children in Burundi simply cannot afford the fees and uniforms required to attend school. Without receiving an education and learning basic skills like reading and writing, they are likely to remain in the cycle of poverty they were born into. Preparing A Place Ministries helps to cover these fees so that they can attend school and receive a much needed education for their future.
Started in 2021 - Sent 95 children to school
2022 - Sent 200 children to school 2023 - Sent 230 children to school 2024 - Sent 250 children to school Now in 2025, our goal is to raise $12,500 to send 250 orphans & impoverished children to school.For only $50, you can send a child to school for an entire year!

We started this program in 2021 when we were able to pay to send 95 orphans and children from vulnerable impoverished families to school for the year. By God's grace and the power of generous donors, we have been able to send more and more children to school each year. Last year in 2023, we were able to send 230 kids who would not have the money, resources, or opportunity to receive an education otherwise.

CARING FOR ORPHANS

The country of Burundi has approximately 90 official government recognized orphanages, half of which are located in the capital city of Bujumbura. Preparing A Place Ministries has taken in the Nezerwa Children's Home in Bujumbura to bring hope and a better life to orphans living there, with future goals of helping more orphanages.
We help to provide a safe and loving environment with enough resources to support the children, including self-sustainable food solutions, clean water, and a security. We also work to reunite them with their parents and families whenever possible and do what we can to support and keep them together.

REUNITING FAMILIES

God created us to be in families, and the best stories are when broken families are put back together again. A loving family is the best place for anyone. Often times, an orphan will grow up and never know their family. Due to extreme poverty, mothers sometimes feel that their best and only option is to leave their child somewhere they know they will be fed and cared for, like an orphanage. We work hard to research, investigate and provide testing for these families to be reunited once again and give them the support they need to stay together. It's a dream come true for an orphan.

SUPPORTING VULNERABLE FAMILIES & WIDOWS
The best solution for caring for orphans is preventing a child from ever becoming one. That's why we focus on supporting vulnerable families, so that they don't have to resort to giving up a child(ren) in order to survive. We also help care for widows and assist them in starting up and maintaining their own businesses.
